Despite the water cuts implemented in Bursa since October 1, there is almost no water left in the dams in the city. Pipes are being laid to bring water from the Çınarcık Dam. If the pipes do not arrive in time, the city could be completely without water within two days.
Due to global warming-related drought, the 'water city' Bursa has run out of water. Since October 1, a planned water cut lasting 12 hours has been implemented in Bursa, where there is no water left in the reservoirs. While the water in the Nilüfer Dam has completely run out, the water level in the Doğancı Dam continues to decrease. The overall average water level in the reservoirs in Bursa is measured to be below zero.
PIPES ARE BEING LAID TO BRING WATER
While it is stated that there are only two days' worth of water left in the city, a striking method has been adopted to solve the problem. Pipes are being laid to bring water from the Çınarcık Dam. It has been learned that if the pipes do not arrive in time, the entire city could run out of water.
PLANNED WATER CUTS CONTINUE IN BURSA
On the other hand, the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality has decided to extend the planned water cuts that have been ongoing since October 1. In a statement made yesterday, it was noted that these planned water cuts would occur in a rotational manner in the neighborhoods of Osmangazi, Yıldırım, Nilüfer, Mudanya, Gürsu, Kestel, and Karacabey districts, not exceeding 12 hours daily.
It was recorded that the cuts, which aim to save 100,000 cubic meters of water daily, would not affect Bursa City Hospital, Bursa Uludağ University, and state hospitals.
