Just minutes before his discharge, the Pope stepped out onto the hospital balcony to greet the crowd waiting for him in the garden.
The spiritual leader of Catholics, Pope Francis, has completed his treatment at the Gemelli Hospital in the capital city of Rome, where he was admitted on February 14 with a diagnosis of "acute respiratory failure."
HE APPEARED BEFORE THE PUBLIC AFTER 5 WEEKS
Pope Francis was discharged from the hospital after 5 weeks. The leader of Catholics greeted the crowd waiting for him in the garden by stepping out onto the hospital balcony just minutes before his discharge.
HE WAS SEEN STRUGGLING TO BREATHE
Pope Francis, who came out to the balcony in a wheelchair, was seen with a swollen face and struggling to breathe. In a brief speech from the balcony, the Pope thanked the crowd in the hospital garden. Accompanied by a convoy, Pope Francis was sent off to the Vatican with applause from local residents.

Doctors stated that it would take a very long time for the Pope's aging body to fully recover and that Pope Francis needed to rest in the Vatican for another 2 months.
