President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a message for Eid al-Fitr. In his message, Erdoğan referred to the corruption operation in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), stating, "The plundering of resources allocated for serving Istanbul, both in terms of infrastructure and superstructure, for the sake of personal ambitions and individual commercial interests is the greatest betrayal to the people of this city."

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that they are once again experiencing this Ramadan with a heavy heart due to the oppressions, massacres, and pains occurring in different corners of the heartland, saying, "Especially the genocide happening in Gaza is reaching an increasingly horrific dimension with images that will tear the heart of anyone who has a shred of conscience, morality, and reason. As Turkey, we clearly express our stance against this brutality and are trying to heal the wounds of our brothers with our aid."

"IT IS THE GREATEST BETRAYAL TO THE PEOPLE OF THIS CITY"

Without naming names, Erdoğan referred to the corruption operation in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, stating, "The plundering of the resources allocated for serving Istanbul, with its infrastructure and superstructure, for personal ambitions and commercial interests is the greatest betrayal to the people of this city. Of course, every Istanbulite has the right to hold accountable those who steal their and their children's future, life, security, and peace. No one should pay attention to the politicization and dilution of judicial processes that are applauded in Western countries as a 'requirement of democracy, the rule of law, ethical politics, and principled governance,'" he said.

"THOSE WHO LOSE THEIR CONSCIOUSNESS TO TARGET OUR ECONOMY..."

Continuing his words, Erdoğan said, "We entrust to the insight of our noble nation those who have lost their consciousness to the extent of targeting public safety and our economy to cover up the corruption and bribery cycle; those who act with the understanding that 'if we collapse Turkey, we will also collapse the government.' Taking into account the new developments that will arise in the judicial process, I express my gratitude to every Istanbulite brother who will take a realistic, fair, and conscientious stance to protect their life and city."
