President Erdoğan recited the Quran at the Selimiye Mosque, which was reopened for worship after restoration.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Edirne to attend the reopening of the Selimiye Mosque for worship after restoration, as well as the collective inauguration and key handover ceremony for completed facilities and projects. As part of his city program, President Erdogan first performed the Friday prayer at the Selimiye Mosque, and then addressed the citizens at the ceremony held afterward.

After the program, President Erdogan visited the Edirne Governorship and then proceeded to Saraclar Street. Here, citizens showed great interest in Erdogan as he took a tea break at a local establishment. Erdogan chatted with tradesmen and citizens.
After the tea break, Erdogan walked along Saraclar Street and took a commemorative photo with citizens in front of the Mimar Sinan Statue, with the Selimiye Mosque in the background. Erdogan also read the Holy Quran at the Selimiye Mosque.
