Speaking about the footage of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel drinking rakı at the grave of Kamer Genç, President Erdoğan said, "It is a futile effort to expect diplomatic contact from someone who thinks clinking glasses in a cemetery is a skill. If he does not respect his own member of parliament, will he respect his nation? May God grant patience to CHP citizens and wisdom to these people."
In the Expanded Provincial Chairmen Meeting held at the AK Party Congress Center, President Erdoğan also spoke about the images of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel drinking rakı at the grave of Kamer Genç.
"TOASTING AT THE CEMETERY..."
Starting his words by saying, "Mr. Özel may find it appropriate to criticize his country to foreigners, but we can never accept this for Turkey's main opposition party and its chairman," Erdoğan stated, "I cannot digest this complex attitude towards the West. I believe that my fellow citizens from the Republican People's Party do not accept such a weakness and indifference in their hearts. Besides, he is unaware of how to behave at a gravesite. Expecting diplomatic contacts from someone who thinks toasting at the cemetery is a skill is a futile effort. May God grant patience to CHP citizens and give them wisdom," he expressed.
MINIMUM WAGE MESSAGE
Referring to the minimum wage figure announced as 28,075 lira for the year 2026, Erdoğan said, "I wish the new minimum wage announced as 28,075 lira for 2026 brings blessings to our workers and employers. Thus, the net minimum wage has increased by 27 percent compared to last year. Additionally, we will continue to implement the minimum wage support at 1,270 lira next year," he stated.
