President Erdoğan's message to Assad: We are ready, waiting for news from the other side.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a press conference at Atatürk Airport before his departure to the USA to attend the 79th UN General Assembly.

Criticizing Israel's targeting of Lebanon after Gaza in strong terms, Erdoğan stated, "Israel is once again, unfortunately, conducting attacks not like a state, but like a terrorist organization. Especially the fact that it has now activated these digital attacks is a very clear expression of this. It is time for all countries that have a mission to protect world peace to present solutions to stop Israel, and that time is running out. Humanity does not have a single day to lose," he said.

STEPS TOWARDS NORMALIZATION WITH SYRIA

Continuing his statement, Erdoğan referred to the steps towards normalization with Syria, saying, "We have also expressed our willingness to meet with Assad for the normalization of relations between Turkey and Syria. Now we are waiting for a response from the other side. We are ready for this," he said.
