Following the corruption and terrorism investigation in Istanbul, President Erdoğan responded to the protests organized by the opposition, stating, "I want to say this to the CHP Chairman; fear, panic, and anxiety are of no benefit against death. What has emerged is a harbinger of what is to come. No matter what you do, you cannot prevent the manifestation of justice."

President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the party's Expanded Provincial Chairmen's Meeting. Referring to the protests organized by the opposition following the corruption and terrorism investigation in Istanbul, Erdoğan made a striking statement by saying, "What has emerged is a harbinger of what is to come."
Stating that "the CHP Chairman chose to obstruct the corruption investigation instead of acting responsibly and helping the judiciary fulfill its duty," Erdoğan said, "By slandering state institutions like MASAK, threatening judicial members, and trying to cover up the criminal organizations that have taken root in Istanbul, they are merely ensuring that the pickpockets who prey on the nation's property are held accountable. The CHP is also aware that a significant corruption exists. They know very well that what is reflected in the public is just the visible part of the iceberg. The CHP leadership knows very well how Istanbul has been plundered and who has benefited from it. The CHP knows very well who the criminal organization has extorted and who they have put on a salary. This is the main reason behind their panic. This is the reason for their crime suppression. This is nothing but mocking the intelligence and wisdom of the nation. I want to say this to the CHP Chairman; fear, panic, and anxiety do not benefit anyone in the face of death. What has emerged is a harbinger of what is to come. No matter what you do, you cannot prevent the realization of justice. Breaking those dirty hands reaching for the public treasury is the duty of the judiciary on behalf of the Turkish nation," he stated.
Referring to CHP leader Özel's interviews with the foreign press, Erdoğan said, "The extent to which this network, which has wrapped Istanbul like a vine, reaches will become clearer over time. We will fulfill the powers and responsibilities granted to us by the constitution to the letter. Those who complain about their own country's corruption to the West just to defend their corruption, and those who threaten to ruin the country's economy have once again been disappointed, just as they have throughout history. They themselves admitted that they did not receive support from the West they sought help from. All the centers they hoped for left them high and dry," he said.
