Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle visited Gazan children in Jordan. The couple met with injured Palestinians who were evacuated from Gaza for treatment and received information about their health status. By visiting the Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan, Harry and Meghan had emotional moments during their meeting with Palestinian and Syrian refugee children.

Prince Harry and his wife, the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, visited injured Palestinians who were evacuated from Gaza and are receiving treatment in Jordan as part of their humanitarian engagements. The Sussex couple particularly highlighted the health conditions of children injured in the midst of the war.

EMOTIONAL MOMENTS AT THE HOSPITAL IN AMMAN

Arriving in Jordan under the coordination of the World Health Organization (WHO), the couple visited the Amman Specialty Hospital in the capital, Amman. WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus also accompanied the couple during the visit.

Harry and Meghan closely engaged with the injured children brought from the Gaza Strip and receiving treatment there, obtaining information from hospital officials about the children's health conditions. The couple experienced quite emotional moments during the visit.

It was noted that the couple, who also met with families during the visit, drew attention to the physical and psychological effects of the war.

Officials reported that the treatment of children evacuated from Gaza is ongoing, encompassing both surgical and psychosocial support aspects.

MEETING WITH REFUGEE YOUNG PEOPLE AT ZATARI CAMP

As part of their program, the Sussex couple also visited the Zatari Refugee Camp in Jordan, where they met with Palestinian and Syrian refugee children.

Visiting the youth center, Harry and Meghan played football with the children and participated in art and music activities. The visit was expressed to aim at uplifting the morale of children traumatized by war and forced migration.

INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT MESSAGE

The couple also attended a meeting organized to evaluate the health services provided to both the local population and refugees in Jordan. Representatives of countries that donated to the WHO, UN partners, and local officials were present at the meeting.

It was noted that the visit emphasized the importance of international solidarity regarding the treatment processes of children brought from Gaza and the access to health services for civilians affected by the war.
