President of the National Defense University, Prof. Dr. Erhan Afyoncu, drew attention to the great danger of population decline. Afyoncu said, "The inability of our population to renew itself is a greater threat to Turks than even war. If we cannot prevent the decrease and aging of our population, we will withdraw from the stage of history as one of the elderly nations of Anatolia."

National Defense University Rector Prof. Dr. Erhan Afyoncu issued very serious warnings against the decline and aging of the population in Turkey.

AFYONCU'S NOTEWORTHY "POPULATION" STATEMENT

Stating that the population's inability to renew itself is an even greater threat for the Turkish nation than war, Afyoncu emphasized that this situation directly endangers the country's future.

"IF URGENT MEASURES ARE NOT TAKEN, THE POPULATION COULD DROP TO 25 MILLION BY 2100"

Describing the decline in birth rates as an existential risk, Afyoncu used the following statements: "The inability of our population to renew itself is an even greater threat for Turks than war. If we do not take very urgent measures and implement them, Turkey's population could drop to 25 million by 2100, and there is a high probability that our elderly population will rise to half of our total population.

"WE WOULD WITHDRAW FROM THE STAGE OF HISTORY"

If we cannot prevent the decline and aging of our population, we would withdraw from the stage of history as one of the elderly nations of Anatolia."
