In his assessments to NEFES, Koç responded to the question "Is Turkey on the right track?" by saying, "Turkey has followed a very good policy so far while the Middle East is in turmoil. I hope it continues to be this way. What did Atatürk say? 'You should not interfere in the Arab's affairs while they are fighting, and you should not take sides.' Our people are doing just that, and I am very pleased."

On the other hand, drawing attention to the rapid changes happening in the world, Koç stated, "Trump was elected to make the USA the strongest and largest country in the world again. He is heading in that direction. However, he is not explaining his strategy well. This sometimes makes him look ridiculous. Sometimes it creates a situation where he is not taken seriously. But what he is doing is actually correct. Due to the attitudes of the presidents before Trump, the country was in a situation where he pushed this and removed that. Now Trump wants to reverse all of that."
