The Minimum Wage Determination Commission, hosted for the third time by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, was represented by TÜRK-İŞ on the workers' side and by the Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TİSK) on the employers' side. In the meeting chaired by the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, the head of the employer delegation was TİSK Secretary General Akansel Koç, while the head of the worker delegation was TÜRK-İŞ Vice President Ramazan Ağar. The 5-member worker delegation included a chef, a hairdresser, a subcontracted worker, and a press member. NO FIGURES DISCUSSED IN THE THIRD MEETING EITHERIn statements made after the commission, TÜRK-İŞ Vice President Ramazan Ağar said, "Again, no figures were brought up in the commission meeting." The lack of discussion on figures in the third meeting drew public reaction. REACTION FROM MUSTAFA SARIGÜLCHP Erzincan Deputy Mustafa Sarıgül also reacted on social media to the lack of discussion on figures regarding the minimum wage. In a video he shared in the Parliament, Sarıgül stated, "Mr. Minister, do not hold the minimum wage discussions at the table. Please do it in the market so you can see what the citizens are going through." Mustafa Sarıgül also added a note to his post saying, "If you didn't discuss figures in the minimum wage meeting, what did you talk about? I suggest you hold the last meeting in the markets." CURRENT NET MINIMUM WAGE IS 17,002 TLThe minimum wage is currently applied as a gross monthly amount of 20,002.50 TL for a worker, and after deductions, the net amount is 17,002.12 TL. The total cost of the minimum wage to the employer is 23,502.94 TL for one worker. Of this, 20,002.50 TL is the gross minimum wage, 3,100.39 TL is the social security premium, and 400.05 TL is the employer's unemployment insurance fund.
