Yozgat Çekerek Deputy Mayor Serhat Akın announced his resignation, stating that they set out with the motto 'we will not steal - we will not let anyone steal' before the election, but despite 9 months passing, arbitrary practices and luxury expenditures could not be prevented.

"THE MAYOR HAS FORGOTTEN ALL HIS PROMISES"

In his statement regarding the issue, Akın said: "During the election period, we formed an alliance with the current Mayor İnce and carried out the election process. While making this alliance, İnce told us that he would 'not deviate from justice, would not take the rights of orphans, would not steal - would not let anyone steal' and made a promise. We set out together based on these promises. The Mayor has forgotten all the promises he made. I objected to many of the decisions made by the Mayor due to wastefulness and arbitrariness. The Mayor became uncomfortable.

"BETRAYAL OF TRUST"

It has been 9 months since the election, and I have fought with all my might to prevent arbitrary practices. At first, the council members stood by me. When the Mayor was left alone, as a result of dirty negotiations, he hired the children of the council members. The members also began to side with the Mayor. There is a betrayal of trust. For all these reasons, I am resigning from my position as Deputy Mayor.

"WHOSE POCKET IS THIS MONEY GOING INTO?"

The Mayor, who said during the election process 'we will not use an official vehicle', has forgotten his promises. While previous mayors stayed in reasonably priced hotels, the Mayor is staying in the most luxurious and expensive hotels in Istanbul, paid for by the municipal budget. He bought himself an iPhone 15 Pro (78 thousand lira) from the municipal budget. Whose pocket is this money coming from? I will continue to fight against actions that do not benefit the public."
