BURSASPOR FANS' CHANTS TARGETING LEYLA ZANA
A chant performed by a group of Bursaspor fans made a significant impact on the match. Some Bursaspor fans directed offensive slogans at Kurdish politician Leyla Zana.
NUMEROUS CONDEMNATION MESSAGES
Following the incident, many individuals condemned the offensive and racist chants directed at Leyla Zana, one of whom was AK Party Diyarbakır Deputy Galip Ensarioğlu.
'HARMING OUR UNITY AND TOGETHERNESS'
Reacting to the slogans, Galip Ensarioğlu made a post on his social media account, stating, 'I strongly condemn the insulting remarks directed at Leyla Zana by some fans during a football match played in Bursa. Such expressions feed anti-nationalism, harm our social unity and togetherness, and create grounds that dark forces, disturbed by the "Terror-Free Turkey" process, which is being carried out with great sensitivity towards the elimination of terrorism in our country, can exploit. Therefore, everyone must carefully avoid divisive actions and statements that are contrary to the unifying spirit of sports. In this process, I invite all our citizens to act with common sense without falling into provocations and to refrain from unwittingly becoming tools of such initiatives.'
