Response from Deniz Yücel to Oğuz Kaan Salıcı: CHP members know what will be discussed and when.

In the CHP, Istanbul Deputy Oğuz Kaan Salıcı has practically raised a flag against the party's Chairman Özgür Özel. Responding sharply to Özel's words, "No one should demand a congress from me," Salıcı said, "A congress is not a privilege, it is a right; the chairman is not a sultan." The response to Salıcı came from CHP Spokesperson Deniz Yücel.

Yücel stated, "It is incomprehensible both logically and rationally to expect the CHP Chairman not to respond when a deputy who has held significant positions in our party makes unjust criticisms and accusations about the Chairman of the Republican People's Party and our party's political strategy during a TV broadcast."

"IT CANNOT BE EXPLAINED LOGICALLY OR RATIONALLY"

Yücel, who tagged Salıcı on his social media account, used the following expressions: "It is incomprehensible both logically and rationally to expect the CHP Chairman not to respond when a deputy who has held significant positions in our party makes unjust criticisms and accusations about the Chairman of the Republican People's Party and our party's political strategy during a TV broadcast, Mr. @oguzksalici. This situation can only be the result of pure arrogance and blind ambition. We all witnessed that during the recent charter congress, both the chairman and the party administration, as well as the party's strategy, were freely discussed, and our charter presented to the congress was accepted with full consensus, with the support of all 81 provincial heads and nearly all 1325 congress delegates.

"IF OPENING THE CHAIRMAN TO DISCUSSION IS NOT A STATE OF NEGLIGENCE, WHAT DOES IT INDICATE?"

It is a well-known fact that in the two-day closed group meeting held just last week, nearly 60 deputies spoke, and every issue was discussed. Here, 18 of our friends, including you, made strong criticisms, but the other 17 friends outside of you emphasized "the importance of unity and solidarity" in their speeches, which pleased all members of our group. In a period when our Esenyurt Mayor was arrested through a political operation and a trustee was appointed to our municipality, discussing the congress and opening the Chairman and party administration to discussion on television that night indicates a state of negligence, if not, what does it indicate?

"CHP MEMBERS KNOW WHAT AND WHEN TO DISCUSS"

Members, delegates, and administrators of the Republican People's Party know very well what to discuss and when to unite. The Chairman of the Republican People's Party represents the institutional identity of the party. Protecting the Chairman of the Republican People's Party is to protect the party. Developing an attitude contrary to this in such a political environment is absolutely unacceptable; you will be embarrassed before history and condemned in the conscience of the party. Our party has achieved great success in the last elections, claiming to bring democracy, justice, economic prosperity, social peace, and harmony to Turkey as a government in the first general elections, and has become the first party in Turkey after 47 years in the last local elections.

"EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW THAT OUR PARTY WILL NOT REMAIN INDIFFERENT TO THIS"

While pursuing personal ambition and interests, anyone who engages in actions and statements that will harm the institutional identity of the party should know that our party will not remain indifferent to this, especially someone who has held significant positions in the past. The tolerance and courtesy shown by our Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel towards your aggressive attitude and reckless statements are evident; do not drag our party further into this ugly and untimely agenda you are trying to initiate. We need to stand together with all our group, our administrators, and our members, to strengthen our party, which is in the first position, and to bring it to power.
