Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that his country has always been open to dialogue and negotiations in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's calls for negotiations and threats. Araghchi said, "Iran has always been ready for dialogue and negotiations. These negotiations will be conducted from an equal position and will serve the interests of the Iranian people."

The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that his country is "always ready for dialogue and negotiations, but these negotiations must be conducted from an equal position and must serve the interests of the country."

Foreign Minister Araghchi issued a written message on the occasion of Nowruz, the first day of the new year according to the Iranian Solar Hijri calendar.

In his message, regarding U.S. President Donald Trump's call for negotiations and threats, Araghchi stated, "We believe in diplomacy and dialogue, and we believe that diplomacy is a suitable alternative to unilateral policies, unjust pressures, cruel sanctions, intimidation, and threats."

IRAN'S CONDITION EXPLAINED

The Iranian Minister said, "Iran has always been ready for dialogue and negotiations. These negotiations should be conducted from an equal position and serve the interests of the Iranian people." Araghchi noted that they would adhere to this policy and that they "would not compromise on national interests."

Iranian Government Spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani also stated that they are "open to negotiations only if they are respectful and appropriate."

WHAT HAPPENED?

In an interview with Fox Business Network on March 7, Trump announced that he had sent a letter to Iranian leader Ali Khamenei. Trump said, "I wrote them a letter saying, 'I hope you negotiate because if we have to go in militarily, it will be a terrible thing.'

Khamenei stated in a speech on March 8 that the U.S. does not want to solve problems with its request for negotiations, but rather wants to impose its demands and establish dominance, adding that Iran would not accept this.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also stated on March 11 regarding Trump's threats, "I will not negotiate with you because you are threatening. Do whatever you want."
