AK Party Central Decision and Executive Board member Mahir Ünal evaluated the boycott calls supported by the CHP. Responding to those who said, "The AK Party called for a boycott," Ünal stated, "We also said 'Boycott.' We also used 'Boycott' as a form of sanction, but not against the public. We used it against the child-killing Israel, the imperialists, and the opportunists who covet our people's earnings."
After the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and his transfer to Silivri Prison in the corruption investigation against the IMM, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had called for a boycott of certain brands. As the number of brands increased over time, a general call for boycott was made today.
ÖZEL: I SUPPORT THE BOYCOTT FROM THE HEART
In his call for boycott, Özel stated, "301 university students, who stood at the forefront against the March 19 Coup and took ownership of their futures, were unlawfully arrested and are spending the holiday away from their families. I wholeheartedly support the consumption boycott initiated by the youth against this oppression inflicted on students, mothers, fathers, and siblings. I invite everyone to join this boycott and use their power from consumption. The nation is the true owner of the state. A handful of coup plotters who confront the nation will lose, and the nation will win."

While the government received numerous criticisms regarding the boycott call supported by the CHP, AK Party member Mahir Ünal responded to those who said, "The AK Party also called for a boycott." In a post from his account, Ünay X stated, "While you lean on the countries you say 'You left us alone' and point fingers at Anatolia, you cannot understand Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who leans on Anatolia and says to your lords, 'The world is bigger than five.' Yes, we also said 'Boycott.' We also used 'Boycott' as a sanction, but not against the people. We used it against the child-killing Israel, the imperialists, and the opportunists who covet our people's earnings. Everything is happening in front of the nation. This nation is wise.
