A minibus carrying people going to a soldier send-off in Bursa veered off the road and overturned. In the tragic accident, 2-year-old Tuğsem Akçay lost her life, and 5 people were injured. Authorities have launched an investigation into the accident.
A heartbreaking accident occurred around 12:30 PM on Istanbul Street in the Osmangazi district of Bursa. According to reports, Muharrem Baysal, who was going to send his son, who had come on leave from the military, to his unit, lost control of the steering wheel while driving a service minibus after being squeezed by a car.
2-YEAR-OLD BABY LOST HER LIFE
In the accident, which was negatively affected by the rainy weather, the service minibus carrying those going to the soldier farewell veered off the road and tipped over. Many health, police, and fire teams were dispatched to the area upon the notification of those nearby. Six people injured in the accident were rescued from the minibus by fire crews. After the first intervention by the health teams, the injured were taken to Çekirge and Yüksek İhtisas Training and Research Hospital. Despite all the efforts of the doctors, 2-year-old Tuğsem Akçay, who was seriously injured in the accident, lost her life.
INVESTIGATION INITIATED
Meanwhile, after the examination by the police teams ensuring road safety at the accident site, the service vehicle was removed from the area. An investigation has been initiated regarding the accident.
