Fenerbahçe's star goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic spoke to the Croatian press outlet Sportske about his future.

''WE WERE DISAPPOINTED''

Livakovic expressed that they are not satisfied with the results they have achieved this season and that they were disappointed, saying, "Of course, we all were disappointed because we finished second for the fourth consecutive season. Fenerbahçe is a big club, it has more than 30 million fans, there is admiration from all levels, and it is hard to accept the fact that the championship title has been missing since 2014. We were eliminated in Europe before, in the Cup as well, and finishing second was generally a negative result. It has been difficult for all of us."

RESPONSE TO SEPARATION CLAIMS

Responding to claims about leaving the team, Livakovic said, "Are you talking about all these transfer speculations? Look, the only certainty is that I have a contract that will last until 2028 and I am focused on continuing my career at Fenerbahçe. If something happens, like a concrete offer, the club will tell me. They decide everything, and then it will probably be discussed. But these are just theories, and I am not under the burden of them."

RETURNING TO HIS FAMILY'S COUNTRY

Touching on his family's return to Zadar, the experienced goalkeeper said, "Yes, I have been alone for the last few days because my wife Helena and my son Joakim returned to Zagreb, or rather Zadar, earlier. The little one is 15 months old and has been running around the house non-stop since then. He is very funny and sweet when he discovers something new. It has changed our lives; it is really true what they say about parents having one life before the child's birth and another life after. Helena and I are happy, and our families are too. That’s why they went to Zadar; we hadn’t been there for a year, and relatives were eager to see him grow and develop."

''THINGS ARE NOT GOING WELL''

Speaking about the reasons for the failure, Livakovic said, "It’s hard to say something specific. We are really training well, we have quality in the squad and on the bench, we are doing our best, but things are just not going well. Winning the championship is a priority for Fenerbahçe every season. The only thing I can say for myself is that I will do my best to fulfill my duty from the very beginning of the next preparations and I will do my part to ensure that Fenerbahçe starts the new season in the best possible way."

''MY COURAGE WAS BROKEN''

Livakovic stated that his courage was broken after his injury, saying, "Unfortunately, I was unlucky with injuries this season. I think I missed 14 matches. I tore my hamstring in mid-December and healed my muscle within a month. At least I thought so until I returned to the field, against Konyaspor away. We won there 3-2, but in the end, my courage was broken. Literally, in the last moments of the match, I re-injured it, and I knew a longer break was coming, practically another month and a half. It disrupted my continuity, but I returned, and most importantly, I am completely healthy."
