In Giresun, Görele Mayor Hasbi Dede, who was accused of harassing high school student Tuana Elif Torun and suspended from duty, was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison, while sickening details emerged from a phone examination. It was determined that Dede had photos of different women and engaged in sexually explicit conversations.
The Mayor of Görele, Hasbi Dede, was called to give a statement within the scope of an investigation launched against him due to messages he allegedly sent to high school student Tuana Elif Torun via social media on February 8. Dede's statement was taken by the public prosecutor's office. Referred to the duty judge with a request for arrest, Dede was released under judicial control with a travel ban imposed.
ARRESTED ON CHARGES OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT
Following the prosecutor's objection, Dede was summoned to the courthouse on February 10 to give a statement again and was arrested on charges of 'sexual harassment by taking advantage of the ease provided by electronic communication tools against a child.' Dede, who was suspended from his post by the Ministry of Interior, faced a lawsuit filed at the Görele 1st Criminal Court of First Instance seeking a prison sentence of 6 months to 3 years. Dede was released under judicial control at the first hearing of the case. In his place, CHP council member Aysel Uzun was elected as acting president through a vote in the municipal council. Dede was expelled from his party, the CHP, by a decision of the High Disciplinary Board.
TUANA DIED IN ACCIDENT BEFORE SECOND HEARING
On March 28, the victim of the case, Tuana Elif Torun, was hit by a car with license plate 28 RE 752, driven by Adem Hasbaş, while walking by the roadside at the Görele bridge area of the Black Sea Coastal Road in the Görele district. Tuana Elif Torun, who was seriously injured, died in the hospital where she was being treated. The suspect driver was arrested.
HASBİ DEDE SENTENCED TO 1 YEAR AND 6 MONTHS IN PRISON
The verdict hearing of the case in which Hasbi Dede was being tried was held at the Görele 1st Criminal Court of First Instance. Hasbi Dede, who was tried without detention, did not attend the hearing. The lawyers of the parties and the lawyer of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, who intervened in the case, were present at the hearing. After the hearing, the court judge sentenced Hasbi Dede to 1 year and 6 months in prison, while ruling that the pronouncement of the verdict should not be deferred.
Meanwhile, during the legal process, Hasbi Dede's phone was also examined at the police forensic laboratory. The content from Hasbi Dede's phone was nauseating. It was determined that Dede engaged in sexually explicit conversations with different women, and that the women sent photos to Dede.
