Salim Güran's messaging with escorts was asked about to his wife, Melek Güran.

The trial of four defendants, for whom aggravated life imprisonment is sought in connection with the murder of Narin Güran, began yesterday. In the first hearing held at the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court, Narin Güran's mother, brother, and the confessing defendant Nevzat Bahtiyar, along with uncle Salim Güran, appeared before the judge for the first time.

"MY HUSBAND DOES NOT CHEAT ON ME"

On the second day of the trial, witnesses gave their testimonies. One of the witnesses was Melek Güran, the wife of the detained defendant Salim Güran. One of the lawyers present at the hearing asked Melek Güran, "Did you know that your husband confessed to cheating on you in this courtroom?" Melek Güran responded to this question, "My husband does not cheat on me."

HE HAD CONFESSED IN THE COURTROOM

Yesterday, uncle Salim Güran, who sat in the defendant's chair, responded to the judge's question, "You deleted text messages. Why?" with "I deleted escort messages."

The dialogue between the uncle and the judge yesterday was as follows;

• Judge: You deleted text messages. Why?
• Salim Güran: I deleted escort messages.
• Judge: But you haven't deleted what you should have; the escort messages are still on WhatsApp, you've deleted the other messages.
• Salim: Didn't I delete them?
• Judge: Who killed Narin?

• Salim Güran: Who killed her, I don't know. They brought a fortune teller. While I was around their house, the fortune teller pointed to Nevzat's house. They are making me go around my stepmother, and I even suspected my stepmother.

• Judge: Why didn't you suspect Nevzat?
• Salim Güran: I didn't suspect him; we have no feud with anyone. There was a small feud with Nevzat. Since Arif said, 'There is no problem,' there is no problem for me.
• Judge: Why did you change the statements of your relatives?
• Salim Güran: The gendarmerie made me say that by beating me when they detained me. I didn't say that.
• Judge: You misled in the gendarmerie report.
• Salim Güran: Who am I to mislead the great state?
• Judge: You took the gendarmerie to suspicious places, to the gypsies' area.
• Salim Güran: I hear it last; this one has gone, that one has gone, but I have no news. They say they saw two gypsies.
