25.08.2024 09:50

Etimesgut Mayor Erdal Beşikçioğlu announced that the stray dog that bit a child in the district will be returned to the place it was taken after 10 days of observation. Citizens who reacted to this situation made comments such as "I guess you are not aware of the laws when you say we will return the dog to where it was taken", "You were elected without any promises anyway. Who can say anything?" under Beşikçioğlu's post.

Etimesgut Mayor Erdal Beşikçioğlu said that a street dog that bit a child in the district will be returned to where it was taken after 10 days of observation. Beşikçioğlu stated in a statement on his social media account that he followed the dog biting incident in Yapracık Neighborhood of Etimesgut district in Ankara with great sensitivity.

"IT WILL BE RETURNED TO WHERE IT WAS TAKEN"

Beşikçioğlu, who said that they took the necessary steps after the street dog named Y.K. bit a child, said, "The green earring of the mentioned dog shows that it is a street animal registered with Sincan Municipality. One of our beloved animals, which was taken to the Temporary Animal Care Center belonging to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality for necessary health checks, has been adopted, and the other one will be returned to where it was taken after 10 days of observation," he said.

"THE SAFETY OF STREET ANIMALS..."

Beşikçioğlu stated that they observed an increase in the number of dogs left from other districts within the boundaries of the district and used the following expressions: "This situation may overshadow the meticulous work we do to protect our beloved animals. Therefore, we will continue to take necessary precautions for the safety of both our street animals and our citizens in our district. Just as we value the health and right to life of each child and citizen, we also value the safety of every street animal at least as much."

"WE EXPECT UNDERSTANDING FROM ANIMAL LOVERS"

Every complaint from street animals, whether they have earrings or not, is taken seriously and necessary actions are taken. During this process, the health condition of our bitten child has been carefully examined and the vaccination card and health report have been shared with the public. We are carrying out this process carefully in order to ensure that neither the dog is harmed nor the bitten child is treated correctly. We also expect understanding and cooperation from our animal lovers in this regard. Protecting our street animals and ensuring the safety of our citizens is our greatest responsibility."

"HOW DID THEY ELECT THIS MAN AS MAYOR?"

This decision received a great reaction on social media. Comments such as "You seem to have no knowledge of the laws when you say we will return the dog to where it was taken," "You were elected without any promises. Who can say anything?", "Don't you read the laws? According to which law will you return the dog to where it was taken?", "How did they elect this man as mayor in Etimesgut?", "You are really insane. What will this animal do in 10 days that it will stop biting? Are you going to leave it there so that it doesn't just bite but tear apart?" were made under Beşikçioğlu's post.
