The Mediterranean Municipality, which continues its fight against those who pollute the environment in Mersin with determination, has taken action this time regarding the incident of hundreds of buckets of yogurt dumped by the roadside.
"THEY DUMPED ALL THE YOGURT ON THE LAND"
According to a statement from the municipality, in an incident that occurred near Tırmıl Hill in the Özgürlük neighborhood, individuals were caught on a driver's cell phone camera pouring yogurt onto the ground from a pickup truck. The footage shows moments when people getting out of the vehicle parked by the roadside emptied buckets full of yogurt onto the land.
THE MUNICIPALITY IMMEDIATELY TOOK ACTION
Upon the report of a concerned citizen, teams from the Mediterranean Municipality's Environmental Protection and Control Department went to the area, scraped the polluting waste from the ground with a loader, loaded it onto a truck, and removed it from the area. Municipal officials announced that a formal letter would be sent to the Mersin Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change to apply the necessary legal and administrative actions against these individuals who harm the environment and human health.
TONS OF TEXTILE WASTE WERE ALSO DUMPED ON THE BEACH
Meanwhile, the Mediterranean Municipality had identified and penalized the truck and the company responsible for dumping tons of clothing and textile waste on the Karaduvar neighborhood beach last week, with the support of law enforcement, using security cameras.
