The moments when hospital staff in Tajikistan refused entry to veiled women caused a huge backlash on social media. The footage shows the staff interfering with the women and changing the way their headscarves are worn.

The moments when women trying to enter the hospital with headscarves were prevented were captured on camera in Tajikistan, where 98% of the population is Muslim.

In Tajikistan, hijab was first banned in public institutions and schools, and recently it was completely banned. According to the law, those who violate the bans on wearing, importing, selling, and advertising headscarves will be fined.

THEY WERE NOT ALLOWED TO ENTER

The controversial decision has started to be implemented in many areas in the country. In the footage taken in a hospital, it can be seen that officials did not allow women wearing headscarves to enter. Some women who wanted to enter had to take off their headscarves.
