The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry issued a critical warning regarding the recall processes for baby formula and follow-on milk. In this context, products from the Aptamil First Infant Formula brand owned by Danone were withdrawn from the market after the detection of cereulide toxin in a specific batch.
AFTER NESTLÉ, THIS TIME DANONE
Previously, some SMA baby formula and follow-on milk products from the Nestlé brand were recalled in over 50 countries due to suspicions of cereulide toxin. Following this development, it was reported that a similar risk was identified in Danone's Aptamil First Infant Formula products.
MINISTRY'S CLEAR WARNING: DO NOT CONSUME, RETURN
According to a report by Sabah, the General Directorate of Food Control of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry emphasized that the products under recall should absolutely not be consumed and should be returned to the points of purchase.
INTERNATIONAL ALARM SYSTEMS ARE BEING CLOSELY MONITORED
In the ministry's statement, it was noted that international rapid alert systems INFOSAN and RASFF (Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed) are being closely monitored. The statement indicated that following these notifications, measures have been increased in the importation of baby and follow-on formulas, and accredited laboratory analysis reports for all batches have been requested from the manufacturing companies. It was recorded that entry of products into the country is not allowed without meeting the necessary conditions, and recall processes for products already on the market have been initiated with the knowledge of the ministry.
