UNDISCOUNTED SENTENCE OF 11 YEARS AND 3 MONTHS IN PRISON
The Istanbul 14th Heavy Penal Court ruled that Demir, who was tried on charges of 'membership in an armed terrorist organization' and 'making propaganda for a terrorist organization', was convicted of both offenses. The court, which did not apply any discretionary reduction, sentenced Lawyer Demir to a total of 11 years and 3 months in prison. The case was left open for the appeal process.

Following the sentence given against him, Ramazan Demir made an assessment regarding the decision through his social media account. In his post, Demir stated, "It has fallen to my lot to receive a total of 11 years and 3 months in prison without any reduction for both membership in the organization and for organization propaganda. May our people's lives be safe."
