As the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) begins its new legislative term after approximately 2.5 months, the Deputy Group Chairman of the New Path and Muğla Deputy of the Future Party, Assoc. Dr. Selçuk Özdağ, made special statements during a live broadcast held in the Parliament garden by Haberler.com.
"WE BELIEVE THAT WE WILL RETURN TO A PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM"
Criticizing the government, Selçuk Özdağ stated that they will strengthen the parliament and the members of parliament. Responding to questions from Haberler.com News Director Olgun Kızıltepe and presenter Melis Yaşar, Özdağ said:
"As opposition members of parliament, we will make the parliament effective. One day, the presidential government system will be shelved in Turkey. It must be shelved. This country is not one that can be governed by one person or a few people. It has 86 million people. At the same time, there is a Turkish world of 350 million, an Arab world of approximately 650 million, and an Islamic world of about 2 billion. This is the jugular vein of such a country. It is its valve at one point. It is the peak of Turkey. Therefore, we believe that one day we will return to a parliamentary system."
