Valentina Alekseeva, a citizen of the Chuvash Republic, was chosen as the most beautiful woman in Russia. The 18-year-old medical student Alekseeva is studying at the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, one of Russia's most prestigious schools. Alekseeva inherited her crown, adorned with precious stones, from last year's Miss Russia winner Margarita Golubeva. WON A $10,000 PRIZEIn addition to winning the competition, Alekseeva also became the owner of a cash prize of one million rubles (approximately $10,000). The young contestant, who loves ballet, sports, and a healthy lifestyle, earned the right to participate in the national event by finishing first in a regional beauty contest. THE JURY INCLUDED 2001 AND 2002 BEAUTIESAmong the other winners of the competition, Irina Mironova from Tolyatti came in second, while Ulyana Evdokimova from St. Petersburg placed third. The final took place at the Barvikha Luxury Village concert hall, and the jury included Miss Russia 2001 and Miss Universe 2002 winner Oksana Fedorova, designer Igor Chapurin, and composer Vladimir Matetsky. 85,000 WOMEN PARTICIPATEDThis year, more than 85,000 young women applied for the Miss Russia competition, which has been held since 1993. The participation requirements include being between the ages of 18-23, single, and without children.
