Beşiktaş's head coach Sergen Yalçın, who drew 1-1 with Kasımpaşa, expressed his concerns about not being able to convert the chances created in his post-match statement. Speaking about the inability to turn the opportunities into goals, Yalçın said, "If five balls inside the six-yard box don't go into the net, what can I do about it? There is no training for this. If they don't go in from the six-yard box, it's just bad luck."
In the 10th week of the Trendyol Super League, Beşiktaş's head coach Sergen Yalçın, who drew 1-1 away against Kasımpaşa, stated that their opponents scored without creating any chances.
'OPPONENTS SCORE WITHOUT CREATING CHANCES'
Speaking at the press conference after the match, Yalçın said, "We started the game well. It seemed like it would be a nice night for us. We found an early goal and took the lead. Then we missed a penalty and immediately conceded a goal. In the second half, we created 3-4 chances but couldn't score. Our opponents are scoring without creating chances. We are experiencing bad luck in this regard. We can't attribute everything to that. We are spending serious time with the team. It's not easy. We will play against Fenerbahçe in the upcoming derby match. We will prepare well for that match as well. Hopefully, we will redeem ourselves to the community and the fans with the result we will achieve." he stated.
'IT'S HARD TO SOLVE THE PROBLEMS'
Addressing Beşiktaş's problems, Yalçın said, "This is not a problem of today. It is a problem that has been building up for 4-5 years. I came to solve the problems. I believe I have the experience to solve the problems, but our issue is not something that can be solved immediately. It requires 2-3 transfer periods. Right now, it's hard to solve the problems. We are working hard to get the team back on track. We are trying to do everything excellently. There are some problems we cannot discuss here. I can solve these, it's not very difficult for me. Our fans are also unhappy. Serious problems are arising for them in terms of results. We need time, we need to wait. I don't know how long this time will be or how much time we will be given. It's fate, we will see everything." he evaluated.
Regarding the upcoming Fenerbahçe derby next week, the experienced coach stated, "Everyone wants to win derbies. The fans want to experience that feeling too. We will work hard and do everything to win that match. The fans are unhappy, this situation is not a good one. We are not drawing a profile of a big team. This is the current position. We are trying to do our best." he said.
'IF 5 BALLS DON'T GO INTO THE GOAL, WHAT CAN I DO?'
Yalçın, stating that he cannot do anything about the missed goals by his players, said, "If 5 balls inside the six-yard box don't go into the goal, what can I do about that? There is no training for this. If the ball doesn't go in from the six-yard box, that's bad luck. We are not playing very well. We are not fighting very well. I understand these, but I can't say anything about the missed goal. These are not issues that can be solved. We can improve the game over time, but if the ball doesn't go into the goal from the six-yard box, that's not my job, it's the player's job." he expressed.
Yalçın responded to the question of whether he would carry out the new restructuring with the black-and-white team's scout chief Eduard Graff or with his own team, saying, "You can already see the work they are doing. I am trying to explain some things indirectly. Football is a difficult game. I say we need time. I can solve this, but we need time. I can't solve it tomorrow. What matters to me is Beşiktaş. I couldn't stay for 3 months after winning all the cups. After me, 9 coaches have changed here. It is madness to do the same things and expect different results." he replied.
