The mushroom season has begun in Düzce with the recent rainfall. Experts have warned against the dangers of wild mushrooms, which can lead to poisoning. Dr. Yasin Yılmaz, the Director of Health in Düzce, reported that serious poisonings resulting in death due to the consumption of mushrooms that grow in natural environments and contain toxins are frequently observed in our country.
As in the entire country, the number of wild mushrooms growing in nature has also increased in Düzce, which is covered with forests. Dr. Yasin Yılmaz stated that to avoid mushroom poisoning, it is necessary to prefer banderole-cultivated mushrooms instead of wild mushrooms growing in natural areas.

Düzce Health Director Dr. Yasin Yılmaz reported that serious poisonings resulting in death due to the consumption of mushrooms that grow in natural environments and contain toxins are frequently seen in our country.
"IT CAN EVEN RESULT IN DEATH"
Dr. Yasin Yılmaz pointed out that the symptoms of mushroom poisoning appear within 2 to 6 hours after consuming the mushroom, depending on the nature of the toxin in the mushroom. "Within two hours, symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness, low blood pressure, blurred vision, redness of the face and neck, a metallic taste in the mouth, nausea, vomiting, and sweating may occur; while nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, palpitations, abdominal pain, liver-kidney dysfunction, and even symptoms of poisoning that can result in death may be observed 6 hours after consuming some types," he stated.
In case of symptoms of poisoning, it is necessary to seek help from the nearest healthcare facility without delay. To avoid mushroom poisoning, banderole-cultivated mushrooms should be preferred instead of wild mushrooms growing in natural areas," he stated.
