In Beykoz, businessman M.Ş. was first threatened and then blackmailed by a gang that his ex-girlfriend M.K. had agreed to. Gang members, who carried out an armed attack on M.Ş.'s home, demanded 25 million lira from him. In an operation, M.K. and 9 other suspects were arrested and sent to prison.
Businessman M.Ş., who lives in the Beykoz district of Istanbul, started a relationship with M.K. whom he met 6 years ago. Allegedly, after the 6-year relationship ended a few months ago, businessman M.Ş. requested the return of the vehicle he had given to his girlfriend, which led to a dispute between the couple.
HE SET A TRAP FOR HIS GIRLFRIEND
Initially opposing this situation, M.K. later told the businessman that she wanted to meet at a café and would return the vehicle there. When M.Ş. went to the café to retrieve the vehicle, he saw that there were three other people with his girlfriend. One of the suspects, nicknamed 'Uncle', surprised the businessman by saying, 'We have imposed a fine of 25 million lira on you, the car will stay with us. You will pay the money as soon as possible.' The businessman was taken aback and received the response from his girlfriend, 'Whatever my uncle says goes.' Deciding not to take the vehicle during the meeting, businessman M.Ş. continued to receive threatening phone calls.
FIRST THEY BLACKMAILED, THEN THEY SHOT HIS HOUSE
According to allegations, the gang, which abandoned the demand for 25 million lira, recorded inappropriate images and carried out an armed attack on the businessman’s house on February 1. Following this incident, businessman M.Ş. went to the police and filed a complaint against the suspects.
14 SUSPECTS WERE DETAINED IN OPERATIONS
Upon receiving a tip-off, the teams from the Gasp Bureau of the Public Order Branch started working to capture the suspects, identifying the three suspects who threatened the businessman in the café and determining the license plate of the vehicle used in the shooting incident. Simultaneous raids were conducted at 20 different addresses in 10 districts with the participation of special operations police. 14 gang members who blackmailed businessmen and demanded extortion were detained in the operations. It was learned that among the suspects was M.K., the businessman M.Ş.'s girlfriend, who threatened him and was detained as an instigator.
10 SUSPECTS WERE ARRESTED ALONG WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND
The 14 suspects who were detained were sent to the courthouse after completing their procedures at the Gasp Bureau. The Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that 10 of the suspects brought to court as part of the investigation initiated by the Organized Crime Bureau were arrested by the court.
