Volleyball player Yeliz Başa, who has previously played in 12 different countries, has transferred to China's Liaoning team. Yeliz Başa will compete in the league of her 13th different country alongside Turkey. After signing, Başa stated, "The only country in Asia where I wanted to play was China, and it was my dream. I am very happy to have achieved this."
Experienced national volleyball player Yeliz Başa has joined the roster of Liaoning, one of the teams in the Chinese Super League.
YELİZ BAŞA WILL COMPETE IN HER 13TH DIFFERENT COUNTRY
At 38 years old, Başa will compete in her 13th country, including Turkey, and her 7th different country in Asia, wearing the jersey of a Chinese club for the first time.
'ONLY CHINA WAS LEFT AND IT WAS MY DREAM'
Yeliz Başa stated in an interview with AA, "I have played volleyball in many countries around the world and Asia, and I have won numerous championships. The only country I wanted to play in Asia was China, and it was my dream. I am very happy to have achieved this."
'I WILL DO MY BEST ON THE COURT'
Thanking the Liaoning Club and coaching staff for their trust in her, Başa said, "China will be the 13th country in my career. I am very excited to play in the Chinese Super League. I am here with Liaoning to complete the missing piece, that is, to realize my dream. I have prepared well. I feel good. I will do my best on the court for my club that trusts me."

Yeliz Başa, who has competed for Beşiktaş, Halkbank, and Bodrum Belediyesi Bodrumspor in Turkey, has also worn the jersey of the A National Women's Volleyball Team. The experienced player, who has spent a significant part of her career abroad, will sweat in China after playing in Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines in the Far East. Başa, who has previously competed in leagues in the Czech Republic, Albania, Puerto Rico, Italy, and the USA, has played in the following countries abroad:
