17-year-old Sema Nur Tursun, who allegedly allowed her bank account and IBAN details to be used at her friend's request in Adana, was sentenced to 7 years in prison for a 700,000 lira fraud carried out through these accounts. Her tearful mother, Cemile Tursun, claimed that the real perpetrators went free and asked authorities for help.
In recent years, incidents of "IBAN and bank account lending," which have been on the rise and exploit citizens' goodwill, have ruined a family's life in Adana. The Tursun family, living in the central Seyhan district, suffered a great tragedy when their 17-year-old daughter, Sema Nur, ended up in prison as a victim of a friend's betrayal.
SHE LENT HER ACCOUNT TO A FRIEND, HER LIFE WAS RUINED
According to information obtained, 17-year-old Sema Nur Tursun, who works at a tailor's shop, gave her bank account details and IBAN number to a friend upon request. However, a massive fraud network amounting to 700,000 liras was operated through these accounts. As the legal owner of the bank accounts, the minor girl became the primary suspect in the investigation and was sentenced to 7 years in prison within the scope of the fraud cases she was tried for, and was sent to prison.
MOTHER CEMİLE TURSUN: MY DAUGHTER WAS A VICTIM OF A FRIEND
Mother Cemile Tursun, who argued that her daughter is only 17 years old, does not understand banking/financial matters, and was completely deceived, tearfully recounted the difficult process they are going through. Stating that the family struggles to hold on to life amid financial hardship, mother Tursun expressed her despair with these words:
"My daughter was a victim of a friend. They tricked my daughter and took her card. My daughter is only 17 years old. Can my daughter use a card? She is a victim. I am a tenant. My husband is blind, and both of my children are imprisoned. We ask for amnesty from the authorities. Help these victims."

Cemile Tursun, who claims that they only learned that her daughter's bank accounts were used by a fraud network after the incident was taken to a legal dimension, voiced her rebellion for justice. The grieving mother, who alleges that the real perpetrators were not punished, stated the following:
"They used my daughter's IBAN and defrauded 700,000 liras. We pay the money, but another debt arises. The person who defrauded my daughter goes to court, and they acquit him, but my daughter gets punished. My daughter received a 7-year sentence from two cases. More cases are emerging. When I see my daughter in prison, I can't breathe."
