In a simultaneous operation conducted in the Siverek and Bozova districts of Şanlıurfa, a large number of unlicensed weapons, ranging from Kalashnikovs to scoped rifles, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and cannabis plants were seized. Legal proceedings have been initiated against 7 suspects.
The Şanlıurfa Provincial Gendarmerie Command carried out a large-scale operation in the districts of Siverek and Bozova as part of the "Fight Against Illegal and Unlicensed Armament".
SHOCK OPERATION BY THE GENDARMERIE
As a result of the joint efforts of the Siverek and Bozova district gendarmerie commands and JASAT teams, a significant number of weapons and ammunition were seized during house and annex searches conducted against suspects identified as possessing unlicensed long-barreled firearms.
HOUSES TURNED OUT TO BE ARMORIES
During the operation, 2 unlicensed Kalashnikov assault rifles, 1 unlicensed G3 assault rifle, 1 unlicensed G1 assault rifle, 2 unlicensed pistols, 4 unlicensed blank-firing pistols, 2 unlicensed shotguns, 1 air rifle, 1 sniper scope, 20 magazines, and 652 rounds of various calibers and sizes were seized. Additionally, 50 sprouted cannabis plants and approximately 17 cannabis plants measuring 30 centimeters in height were found.
LEGAL ACTION INITIATED AGAINST 7 SUSPECTS
It was reported that legal action has been initiated against 7 suspects as part of the operation. In a statement made by the Şanlıurfa Provincial Gendarmerie Command, it was emphasized that the fight against illegal and unlicensed armament would continue resolutely.
