The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) reacted to the statements made by the Archbishop of the Greek Cypriot Administration (GKRY) targeting the Turks in Cyprus. Ministry sources stated, "Turkey will not hesitate to exercise the powers granted to it by its guarantorship against the activities of the GKRY that threaten the security of the Turkish Cypriots and the environment of peace and stability on the island, just as it has done in the past."
Sources from the Ministry of National Defense (MND) reacted to the statements made by the Archbishop of the Greek Cypriot Administration (GCA) targeting the Turks in Cyprus.
Sources from the ministry, responding to journalists' questions about current issues, used the following expressions:
"TURKEY WILL NOT HESITATE TO EXERCISE ITS POWERS"
"The statements of the GCA Archbishop should be evaluated in conjunction with the recent developments regarding the establishment of a new terrorist organization that came to the agenda in recent weeks. This mentality, which disregards historical facts and distorts the current situation and Turkey's presence on the island of Cyprus, is the biggest obstacle to peace, dialogue, and a constructive approach. This approach, which completely ignores international law and humanitarian values, targets the legitimate rights and security of the Turkish Cypriot people. Cyprus has never been a Greek island. It is not possible to implement plans with similar thoughts, and this will not be allowed. The Turkish Cypriot people are the original and equal partners of this island. No power will be able to expel them from these lands. If peace prevails on the island of Cyprus today, it should be remembered that it is thanks to Turkey. Turkey will not hesitate to exercise the powers granted to it by its guarantorship against the activities of the GCA that threaten the security of Turkish Cypriots and the environment of peace and stability on the island, just as it has done before."
THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO SURRENDER
"THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO SURRENDER"
According to the news in Türkiye Newspaper; MND sources also evaluated the "Terror-Free Turkey" process. Highlighting the efforts made for the surrender of terrorists who are in communication with the so-called leaders of the organization and are found in caves, the sources noted:
"By encouraging the PKK terrorist organization's dissolution and disarmament process, convincing undecided members of the organization in the lower ranks to surrender, demonstrating determination in the fight against terrorism, and conveying that armed struggle is not a way out, but the only solution is to surrender to Turkish justice, flyers prepared in Turkish, Kurdish, and Arabic are being dropped from the air into the hideouts of the organization in northern Iraq."
OUR COUNTERPART IS ENGLAND
Sources, drawing attention to reports that Germany did not approve the procurement of Eurofighter, stated, "Discussions regarding the sale of the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft to our country are being held with England. We have not had any discussions with Germany so far. There has been no officially communicated negative issue from the British authorities, who have been our counterpart since the very beginning of the process. The process is proceeding smoothly as planned with UK state officials and representatives of the manufacturing company. Our price evaluation process regarding the sale of the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft is ongoing," they said.
