The inflation difference for retirement pensions and civil servant salaries has been determined. While the inflation difference for SSK and BAĞ-KUR retirement pensions was realized at 15.1%, the inflation difference for civil servant salaries and retired civil servant pensions was 14.01%.

The Turkish Statistical Institute announced the inflation figures for May. According to TÜİK's data, the fifth salary increase rate for civil servants and retirees has also been determined. While the inflation difference in SSK and BAĞ-KUR retirement monthly payments was realized at 15.1%; the inflation difference in civil servant salaries and retired civil servant monthly payments was 14.01.

MAY INFLATION WAS 1.53

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced the May inflation data, which directly affects the salary increase of millions of civil servants and retirees. According to TÜİK's data, the monthly inflation in May was 1.53%, and the annual inflation was 35.41%. Thus, the five-month inflation data that determine the salary increase rates for civil servants and retirees has also become clear.

HOW MUCH WILL BAĞ-KUR AND SGK EMPLOYEES RECEIVE AS A RAISE?

The raise rate for retirement salaries increased by 5.03% in January, 2.27% in February, 2.46% in March, 3% in April, and 1.53% in May. According to this data, the cumulative raise rate that SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees will receive has already reached 15.09%.

The announcement of the June inflation data is expected for the finalization of the raise rate. With the latest data, the total raise rate to be reflected in salaries in July will become clear.

DIFFERENT CALCULATION FOR CIVIL SERVANTS AND RETIRED CIVIL SERVANTS

A raise of 6% will be made in the first 6 months of 2025 and 5% in the second 6 months for civil servant salaries and retired civil servants' monthly payments. These raise rates will be implemented if they remain below inflation. If inflation remains higher than the raise rates, civil servants and retired civil servants will also see the inflation difference as an increase in their salaries. A 14% raise will be made for civil servants and retired civil servants based on the five-month inflation data. The inflation difference was 8.58.

The inflation data for the month of June also needs to be announced for the salary increase of civil servants and retired civil servants.

(Note: If the inflation rate is announced as negative, a decrease may occur in the calculated cumulative rate, and the difference to be reflected in salaries will be determined according to the inflation data to be announced in the following months.)
