A wounded father who lost his wife and children in a traffic accident in Gaziantep bid farewell to his family as they were carried on stretchers for their final journey.

ARRIVED ON A STRETCHER
The ceremony was attended by Gaziantep Deputy Governor İlker Eker, family members, hospital staff, many citizens, and the injured father who attended on a stretcher. During the ceremony, which was filled with tears, prayers were recited for the mother and her children. Healthcare workers also expressed their deep sorrow over the loss. Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Mehmet Akhan, Head of Emergency Medical Services, offered condolences for the deceased mother and children. After the ceremony, the bodies of the mother and her two children were sent to their hometown Kahramanmaraş for burial.
BACKGROUND OF THE INCIDENT
The accident occurred on June 1 at night at the intersection of Bahattin Nakipoğlu Street and the Asri Cemetery in the Şehitkamil district. According to reports, the car with license plate 27 AYH 25, driven by Yunus Emre Kuvrağ, lost control and crossed into the opposite lane, colliding head-on with the light commercial vehicle with license plate 27 BBB 183, driven by Ahmet Kestanlıoğlu. In the horrific accident, the driver Yunus Emre Kuvrağ and his passenger İsmail Volkan Deler in the 27 AYH 25 vehicle, as well as Gülseren Kestanlıoğlu and her children Eylül (6) and Atlas Mete (1) in the 27 BBB 183 vehicle, lost their lives. Ahmet Kestanlıoğlu, who was in the same vehicle and is reported to be an emergency medical personnel, and his mother Naile Kestanlıoğlu were injured.
