South Korea: Seoul Mayor Goes Missing, Police Searching

Mayor’s daughter alerted police on Thursday about her father missing.

Mayor of South Korea's capital is missing, local media reported on Thursday.
Police launched a manhunt to find Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon after his family reported him missing, Yonhap News Agency said.
A missing report by his daughter was filed with police at around 5.17 p.m. (0817GMT) on Thursday.
"He had left home four to five hours ago after leaving words like a will, with his phone currently off," read the report filed by Parks' daughter.
A massive search operation with drones and police dogs is underway.
The officials at the local government headed by Park said the mayor "did not show up for work during the day because of health issues".
An ex-official from Park's office is reported to have filed a criminal complaint against him.
And reports are also linking the case to an alleged sexual assault.
The daily schedule was canceled including a meeting set in Park's office due to "inevitable circumstances," the officials notified.
Police is yet to make details public about the case. -
