As the repercussions of the fund crisis that has dominated Turkey's agenda continue, resigning Capital Markets Board Chairman Mahmut Sütçü left unanswered questions behind. While Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek warned on November 4, 2025, about the Draft Law on Certain Investment Funds Decided to Be Liquidated, the CMB's decision on August 28 brought with it the questions 'Why was it delayed so much, why did it wait so long?'

Mahmut Sütcü, Chairman of the Capital Markets Board (CMB), has resigned. Sütcü, who was appointed to the post on May 9, cited health problems as the reason for his resignation.

MINISTER ŞİMŞEK HAD WARNED

The resignation came while a fund investigation into suspicious transactions in the capital market was ongoing, drawing attention. Sütcü left behind questions the public awaits answers to. Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek had warned on November 4, 2025, regarding the Draft Law on Certain Investment Funds Decided to Be Liquidated. However, the CMB's decision on August 28 also raised questions.

WHY DID THE CMB CHAIRMAN WAIT SO LONG?

The questions "Despite Minister Şimşek's warning, why was it delayed so long, why did it wait so long?" remained unanswered. Sütcü left office without answering these questions.
