Statement from the Ministry of National Defense regarding İskenderun: The affiliation of 4 personnel with the Turkish Armed Forces has been terminated.

In July of this year, four personnel, including the battalion and company commanders, were dismissed from the Turkish Armed Forces due to the loss of two soldiers who were martyred in İskenderun, Hatay, as a result of liquid loss. Additionally, eight personnel related to the incident were given disciplinary penalties according to their degrees of fault in the event.

The Ministry of National Defense made statements regarding the questions of the press members on the agenda.

The ministry announced that the investigation into the incident in July, where two soldiers were martyred due to fluid loss during basic military training in İskenderun, has been completed. As a result of the investigation, it was reported that 4 personnel, including the battalion commander, were dismissed from the Turkish Armed Forces, and disciplinary action was taken against 8 personnel.

INCIDENT AT İSKENDERUN NAVAL RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND

The statements made by the ministry are as follows:

On July 25, 2025, the process regarding the incident in which two of our Mehmetçiks were martyred at the İskenderun Naval Recruit Training Command was carried out with great sensitivity, and the Administrative Investigation and Forensic Medicine reports have been completed.

In this context; 4 personnel, including the Battalion and Company Commander, who were referred to the High Disciplinary Board for intent, fault, or negligence in the incident, have been discharged from the Turkish Armed Forces, and various disciplinary penalties have been imposed on 8 personnel according to their degrees of fault in the incident.

Additionally, the judicial process is being conducted by the İskenderun Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Our heroic Turkish Armed Forces, which draw their strength from the love, trust, and prayers of the noble Turkish nation, will continue to demonstrate an open and transparent approach in accordance with the legislation regarding the incident and developments, as they have done so far, and will keep the public informed accurately and in a timely manner.

We pray for God's mercy upon our martyred heroes; we express our condolences and patience to their grieving families, the Turkish Armed Forces, and our noble nation.

C-130 AIRCRAFT CRASHED ON AZERBAIJAN-GEORGIA BORDER

The investigation of the FDR (Flight Data Recorder) and CVDR (Cockpit Voice Data Recorder) devices, referred to as the black box, of our C-130 military cargo plane that crashed on the Azerbaijan-Georgia border is ongoing at the TUSAŞ facilities, along with the work of our accident investigation team at the crash site.

The wreckage of the crashed aircraft will be thoroughly examined at our 2nd Air Maintenance Factory Directorate located in Kayseri.

The results of the detailed examination will be shared with the public. It is important that news and comments made outside of our official statements are not taken into account.
