New operation footage has been shared regarding the investigation in which it was determined that approximately 5 billion 66 million lira in illegal betting revenue was laundered for the "Çapkanlar" criminal organization. In the operation conducted across 5 provinces centered in Istanbul, 24 suspects were detained, and half a kilogram of drugs hidden in a toilet was seized at one of the raided addresses. Numerous digital materials were also confiscated during the operation.
New operation footage has emerged regarding the investigation into the Çapkanlar criminal organization, where it was determined that approximately 5 billion 66 million liras of illegal gambling income was laundered. In one of the raided addresses, half a kilogram of narcotics hidden in a toilet was seized.
NEW FOOTAGE FROM THE OPERATION RELEASED
Operation footage related to the investigation coordinated by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office was shared with the public.
During a search at one of the addresses raided by teams from the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch Directorate, half a kilogram of narcotics hidden in a toilet was found.
The footage includes the moments when teams conducted the search in the toilet and removed the narcotics.
5 BILLION LIRA BLACK MONEY TRAFFIC
Based on expert reports, MASAK financial analyses, and data obtained from crypto asset and electronic money institutions, it was determined that members of the Çapkanlar criminal organization laundered their illegal gambling income by transferring it to cold wallets through electronic money institutions and crypto assets. The investigation found that 5 billion 66 million 473 thousand 505 liras of criminal proceeds were laundered using this method.
24 SUSPECTS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
In the operation conducted in Istanbul, Ankara, Sivas, Diyarbakır, and Batman, 24 of the 28 suspects with detention warrants were caught and taken into custody. Numerous digital materials were also seized during the operation, and it was reported that the investigation continues.
