In his speech at the "International Union of Democrats Delegation Acceptance Program," President Erdoğan stated, "The opposition, along with their members of parliament, media, and the troll army they support, does not hesitate to target European Turks. We will not allow anyone to oppress them, and we will make it clear to those who try to do so."
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made important statements at the International Democrats Union Delegation Acceptance Program held at the Beştepe National Exhibition Hall.
"THEY HAVE NO TOLERANCE FOR HEARING BEAUTIFUL SENTENCES"
Stating that "The opposition, with its members of parliament, media, and the troll army they nurture, is not ashamed to target European Turks," President Erdoğan said, "They are enemies of the oppressed who seek refuge in our country. They are enemies of our expatriate brothers whose hearts burn with longing for their homeland. They have no tolerance for hearing beautiful sentences about Turkey."
"WE WILL NOT LET ANYONE OPPRESS YOU"
Continuing his words, President Erdoğan, who supports European Turks, said, "You are the true children of this homeland. We will not let anyone oppress you, and we will remind those who try to do so of their limits. No one can treat you as stepchildren or shake their fingers at you."
The key points from Erdoğan's speech are as follows;
"I send my greetings and love to all of our more than 7 million citizens living abroad, from Europe to Asia, from Africa to the Balkans, from America to Australia, through you.
I also convey my affection to our compatriots and kin communities with whom we share the same past, gaze into the same horizon, and look at the world and the future from the same window.
At the very beginning of my words, I congratulate you on your blessed three months and the Leyle-i Regaib that we will observe tonight. I hope that this important night, when the climate of mercy and forgiveness envelops our hearts, brings goodness to our 86 million citizens, our heart geography, and the entire Islamic world.
"OUR BROTHERS ARE LIVING PAINFUL DAYS"
As Muslims, our brothers are living painful days in Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan, and many parts of the world. Due to Israel's inhumane attacks, more than 2 million Palestinians in Gaza, which has turned into a pile of rubble, are struggling to survive under very difficult conditions.
"THE PEOPLE OF SYRIA ARE STRIVING"
Just across our border, after 14 years of struggle, the people of Syria are making a desperate effort to rebuild their country and get back on their feet, despite sabotage from both inside and outside.
"WE NEED BROTHERHOOD"
In a period when a wave of crisis and uncertainty is rising from Europe to Asia, we need more solidarity and brotherhood than ever to avoid being crushed by the winds of calamity and misfortune.
"DO NOT FORGET THEM IN YOUR PRAYERS"
I wish that the three months and the night of Regaip will be a source of peace and relief for all our brothers who are fighting for life and dignity in lands soaked with blood, pain, and tears, especially in Gaza and Palestine. I also kindly ask you not to forget these brothers in your prayers. May God make our work easier. I pray that He strengthens our unity and brotherhood.
"FULFILLING A CRITICAL MISSION"
Esteemed guests, the International Democrats Union, which turns 21 this year, is carrying out very important work with 38 regional presidencies and 253 branches in 17 countries in Europe. The Union closely addresses all kinds of issues faced by our citizens living abroad, who turn their exile into a return to their homeland. The International Democrats Union, one of the strongest civil society organizations in Europe, fulfills a critical mission with the projects it develops and the activities it conducts.
I would like to sincerely thank the International Democrats Union, which works intensively to increase the democratic and active participation of our brothers living thousands of kilometers away from their homeland, to integrate them into the society they are in without being assimilated, and to enable them to demonstrate a strong presence in politics, economy, trade, and social life, and to reach better positions in every field. In addition, I wish success to our union in its efforts against hate-filled acts and rhetoric that fuel enmity, such as cultural racism, discrimination, Islamophobia, and xenophobia.
I express my gratitude to all my brothers who have contributed to the International Democrats Union since its establishment and have played a role in bringing the union to this point. I also pray for mercy from God for our brothers who have served in different levels of the union and have worked selflessly for our citizens abroad but are no longer with us today.
"WE HAVE BEEN SUBJECTED TO RACIST ATTACKS"
Dear brothers, we are all aware of this. It has not been easy at all for our national existence abroad to reach its current levels. We walked against the wind. We were subjected to racist attacks. We worked harder than anyone else to hold on in foreign lands. We were marginalized, oppressed, and looked down upon. We sacrificed our young people, our bright-eyed children, and our calloused-handed brothers to racist terror. You waved goodbye to the train leaving from Sirkeci, while the sorrowful hearts here longed, paid the price, and faced difficulties.
