In his message, Aliyev congratulated Shara on his assumption of office and wished him success. Stating that they attach great importance to the development of friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Syria, Aliyev said, "Azerbaijan is ready to provide the necessary support and assistance during this important transitional period for your country. Beautiful opportunities have arisen to elevate Azerbaijan-Syria relations to a qualitatively new level and to enrich our cooperation with new content."
