U.S. President Donald Trump abruptly removed General Charles Brown, who is recorded as the second Black American to serve in the rank of general, and nominated Dan Caine, a retired lieutenant general from the Air Force, to take his place.

President Trump stated in a message from his Truth Social account that he has dismissed General Charles Brown and thanked him for his service.

"CHOOSE A LEADER"

In his post, Trump said, "I thank General Brown for his over 40 years of service to our country, including his current role as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He is a gentleman and an outstanding leader; I wish him and his family a bright future."

IMMEDIATE APPOINTMENT MADE

Trump announced that he has nominated retired Air Force Major General Dan "Razin" Caine for the new position of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, highlighting Caine's successes in the fight against ISIS.

Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth also thanked Brown in his statement, announcing that Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Lisa Franchetti and Air Force Deputy Chief General Jim Slife have also been dismissed.

BROWN MADE HISTORY IN THE U.S.

Brown has been recorded as the second Black American to serve with the rank of general in U.S. history. Caine most recently served as the deputy director for military affairs at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
