Taxi fares in Ankara have increased; the base fare has risen to 130 lira, and the starting fare has increased to 45 lira. The new tariff will be a turning point for both drivers and passengers.

As rising costs affect many sectors, taxi fares in the capital city of Ankara have also increased. According to the new tariff, the "pick-up" fee for short-distance trips has been raised to 130 lira.

TAXIMETER STARTING FEE IS NOW 45 LIRA

The taximeter starting fee has also been increased from 35 lira to 45 lira. Thus, both the base price for short-distance trips and the initial cost of the journey have risen. With the new tariff, it is expected that total fares for medium and long-distance trips will also increase significantly.

MESSAGE OF "CONGRATULATIONS" FROM THE TRADESMEN'S CHAMBER

Mehmet Yiğiner, the President of the Turkish Drivers and Automobile Federation (TŞOF) and the President of the Ankara General Taxi Drivers and Automobile Tradesmen's Chamber, announced that the new tariff has come into effect. Yiğiner stated, "I wish our new taxi tariff to be beneficial for our tradesmen, and I wish them good business and abundant profits."

INCREASES KEEP COMING

As price increases occur one after another in almost every area from basic consumer goods to the service sector across Turkey, transportation has also been affected by this wave. Citizens express that transportation costs are straining their daily budgets in a high inflation environment.
