Thousands of people flocked to Ayasofya Square as part of the "Last Call from Martyr Haniye" meeting organized by the Palestine Support Platform under the leadership of the Turkey Youth Foundation and with the participation of many civil society organizations. Ismail Haniye, who was martyred in a cowardly assassination, had called on all Arab, Islamic, and world countries to take to the streets on Saturday, August 3rd, in support of the Gaza people and Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails. In this context, TÜGVA, together with the Palestine Solidarity Platform and the participation of many NGOs, organized a program in Ayasofya Square, where tens of thousands of people came together as one. After the afternoon prayer, the crowd gathered and offered prayers for Ismail Haniye and the Palestinians who lost their lives in Israel's attacks, starting with the recitation of the Quran. "YOUNG PEOPLE ARE FIGHTING BOTH ON THE FIELD AND AT THE TABLE"TÜGVA President İbrahim Beşinci stated, "The call made by Martyr Ismail Haniye before he was killed has an important place in people's consciences. As the youth of our country, the Turkey Youth Foundation has been fighting day and night, both on the field and at the table, to be the voice of the oppressed people. The youth of this country are trying to fulfill their duties as much as possible," emphasizing that young people are also very sensitive about the Palestinian issue and inviting Turkey's youth to Ayasofya Square. "JOINING THIS RESISTANCE IS THE DUTY OF ALL MUSLIMS"A large crowd gathered in Ayasofya Square and its surroundings, waving Turkish and Palestinian flags and chanting slogans accompanied by marches. During the program, Muhannad Abu Ubeyd from Gaza took the stage and said, "Joining this resistance, this struggle, for the Palestinian cause, which is the common cause of the Islamic ummah, is the duty of all Muslims. The resilience of the Palestinian people will only be possible with the support of the Islamic nation and all humanity. Therefore, we must unite with all our means to stop the enemy, and even today, we must teach our children the values, principles, and ideas that will lead them to contribute, achieve victory, and put an end to the oppression of the Zionist enemy." The crowd chanted slogans such as "Collaborators will be held accountable" "Killer Israel, get out of Palestine" "Free Palestine from the River to the Sea" "From Istanbul to Gaza, a thousand greetings to the resistance" "Long live the Global Intifada!" Ayasofya Square was divided into specific sections for the press, where many local and foreign journalists followed the program.
