The fourth hearing of the case regarding the murder of university student Ayşe Tokyaz, who was brutally killed by former police officer Cemil Koç and whose body was left in a suitcase by the roadside, has begun. While police officer N.Ç. was making a defense, her twin sister Esra Tokyaz interrupted and was removed from the courtroom. Tokyaz reacted by shouting as the police tried to hold her by the arm.
On July 11, 2025, in Küçükçekmece, Istanbul, police officer Cemil Koç brutally murdered university student Ayşe Tokyaz and left her body in a suitcase by the roadside. The fourth hearing of the trial related to the murder has begun. Before the hearing, her sister Esra Tokyaz made a press statement in front of the Küçükçekmece Courthouse.
Esra Tokyaz "CEMIL HAS NOT YET MADE US HAPPY, HE HAS NOT GATHERED HIS STRENGTH" Grieving sister Esra Tokyaz stated, "Cemil wanted to gather his strength and appear before us, he was saying he would make us happy, but he has not yet made us happy and he has not gathered his strength to appear before us today. Oğuz should continue with the same threats, and even some of the defendants' lawyers should continue to defend all defendants except their own clients. We all witnessed in the previous hearing and we are all witnesses, while Cemil Koç was approaching us and cursing, the SEGBİS recording was not opened, but I hope that in this court, the SEGBİS recording will be opened and everything will be recorded not by what we did but by what he did," she said.
ESRA TOKYAZ WAS REMOVED FROM THE COURTROOM When Esra Tokyaz interrupted while police officer N.Ç. was making a defense, the presiding judge requested Esra Tokyaz to leave the courtroom. When Esra Tokyaz objected, a discussion broke out between her and the presiding judge. As police officers tried to hold her by the arm, Esra Tokyaz reacted by shouting.
Murdered Ayşe Tokyaz PENALTIES SOUGHT In the indictment accepted by the Küçükçekmece 2nd Heavy Penal Court, aggravated life imprisonment was requested for the defendant Cemil Koç for the crime of 'murder with premeditation and inflicting torture with monstrous feelings against a woman', and imprisonment from 4 to 15 years for the crimes of 'depriving a person of their freedom by using force, threat, or deception' and 'blackmail'. For the other 7 detained defendants, it was requested that they be sentenced to imprisonment from 15 to 20 years for the crime of 'aiding and abetting the murder with premeditation and inflicting torture with monstrous feelings against a woman'. For Oğuz Kal, upon determining his participation in the crime committed by the suspect Cemil Koç, aggravated life imprisonment was requested for the crime of 'participation in the murder with premeditation and inflicting torture with monstrous feelings against a woman' and imprisonment from 3 to 12 years for other crimes.
