In an unauthorized demonstration held in Saraçhane to protest the corruption and terrorism investigation against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), a scuffle occurred between the group and the police. It was observed that the group threw materials such as flares, water bottles, and wooden objects at the police. The police teams intervened by using tear gas against the group.
In Saraçhane, intervention was made against demonstrators who wanted to march to Taksim without permission to protest the investigations against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) and who attacked police teams.
SARAÇHANE HAS BEEN DISTURBED ONCE AGAIN
Protests continue in Saraçhane to oppose the investigations initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, in which 90 suspects, including IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu, were detained.
POLICE DID NOT ALLOW THE GROUP TO MARCH TO TAKSIM
Some individuals from the group here began to walk towards Bozdoğan Arch to reach Taksim. Police teams waiting in front of the arch did not allow the demonstrators to proceed towards Taksim as a precaution.
THEY THREW GLASS BOTTLES AND FLARES
Demonstrators, who advanced by chanting slogans, threw materials such as wooden pieces, glass bottles, and flares at the police teams. A scuffle occurred between the police and the demonstrators. The police teams, at times, tried to disperse the group by using tear gas. The wait of those in the group continues.
