A terrible accident occurred at Koltsovo Airport in Russia. Airport technician Rail Khasanov was crushed by a 78-ton Airbus A320 passenger plane while preparing a Ural Airlines flight for takeoff.
The moment of the accident was captured on security cameras. The footage shows the plane's landing gear passing over Khasanov's legs. The pilot began to move without waiting for the technician to get out from under the plane.
Khasanov was taken to intensive care after the accident. His leg had to be amputated at the hip. The technician, who survived the accident, described the terrifying moments he experienced: "A huge wheel passed over my leg. At first, I didn't feel any pain, but then I felt my bones breaking. I was conscious for seven minutes while lying under the plane."
As a result of the investigation, the pilot was held responsible and was ordered to pay compensation to Khasanov. Khasanov reached an agreement with the pilot for £16,000 in compensation.
Currently waiting for a prosthetic leg, Khasanov plans to return to his job at Ural Airlines. However, he will no longer prepare planes for takeoff. "The company promised to find me a new position. I know I need to learn new things," he says.
This incident once again highlighted the importance of safety procedures at airports.
