During the foundation excavation work of a construction site on 981st Street in Duralı Aliç Neighborhood, Mamak District, a landslide occurred around the adjacent 17-story building. Municipal teams closed the entrances and exits by marking the parking area of the building.
BUILDING RESIDENTS ARE CONCERNED
Residents living in the building, which has developed cracks around it, are hesitant to enter their homes. The residents of the building state that the construction work has damaged their buildings and that it should be stopped immediately. The building, which houses 300 people, has been evacuated.

Building resident Buket Nayır said, "I had a guest who called us and said that this place had slid. We also saw that it had slid. We rushed out of the house. We barely saved our cars. We have been experiencing this problem for 4 months. First our road, now this place has slid."

Tuncay Gür stated, "In such a situation, no matter where you are in the world, work stops. They continue to work. They are not stopping the work. Safety measures are not being followed there. If this apartment collapses, who will be responsible for the deaths of so many people?"
"THERE IS NO CAUSE FOR ALARM RIGHT NOW"
The contractor of the excavated building, Semih Kırşan, claimed that there is no cause for alarm, stating, "Until now, there were no pile foundations in our architectural project. When we started excavation and saw some minor collapses, we made a joint decision with the municipality. We installed our pile foundations. There is no cause for alarm right now."
STATEMENT FROM THE MUNICIPALITY
In a statement regarding the issue from Mamak Municipality, it was noted that technical examinations are ongoing with the participation of university faculty members who are experts in the field and representatives from the relevant ministry regarding the construction activities ongoing in the adjacent parcel around Deniz Site on 981st Street.
In the initial assessments, it was reported that no structural risk was detected, and the statement included, "The situation in question is merely due to the settlement of the fill in the parking area of the construction site. Preparations have begun for filling the area with rock tonight. Necessary precautions are being taken to ensure that the work is carried out safely. Our municipality is closely monitoring the process with the relevant institutions, and inspections will continue tonight and in the coming days."
