In Egypt, the giant cargo ship named RED ZED 1, measuring 213 meters in length and flying the Liberian flag, lost control due to a steering malfunction and crashed into the port. The ship, which was en route from the Netherlands to Sudan, suddenly changed direction and was dragged towards the port in Egypt. Workers and people in the port fled in panic.

The incident in the Suez Canal in Egypt shocked onlookers. The 213-meter-long cargo ship named RED ZED 1, flying the Liberian flag, lost control due to a steering failure and crashed into the port. Those moments were captured on camera second by second.

While the ship was heading from the Netherlands to Sudan, it suddenly changed direction and was dragged towards the port in Egypt. As the ship approached the port, large waves formed, and workers and people in the port panicked and fled. Even the surrounding animals were seen running away in fear.

The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) stated in a press release regarding the incident that there were no casualties or injuries, and the crisis was brought under control in just 60 minutes. The ship's crew prevented a major disaster; instead of crashing directly into the port, the ship only scraped along its side.

Immediately after the incident, three tugboats were deployed, and the ship was safely returned to the waterway. Additionally, passengers were quickly evacuated, and repair work on the ship was initiated.

RED ZED 1 is a massive cargo ship measuring 213 meters in length, 43 meters in width, and weighing 41,000 tons. At the time of the incident, it was on its way to Sudan.

Only a month before this incident, a similar accident occurred in New York. The Cuauhtémoc, a ship belonging to the Mexican Navy, crashed into the famous Brooklyn Bridge while maneuvering rapidly in reverse. In that accident, two people lost their lives, and 19 others were injured.

The Brooklyn Bridge, one of the symbols of New York, is used by approximately 100,000 vehicles and 32,000 pedestrians every day. Such accidents once again highlighted the risks that large ships can pose in narrow waterways.
